MMA in Japan

Postby nate1881 on Fri Feb 01, 2008 8:46 am

I don't know if you are interested, you should try to catch some MMA shows in Japan. Shooto or even K1 HEROES.

Maybe show some nightlife in Roppongi. I think alot of foreigners think of Roppongi.

What to see??

Postby chromepro on Sun Feb 03, 2008 12:52 am

I would like to see and know more about the Keirin bicycle races, I understand there is big money at stake and it’s very dangerous. What other types of entertainment do the Japanese enjoy?

Hey cooney, Could you please make a video about the following:

Manga store;
Drift spots;
Different food places;
What your place looks like;
You working (Or doing what you usually do in the daytime);

Stuff like that :P I think it would be pretty interesting to see some videos about those things. So, If you have the spare time maybe you can do some of them. :)

Screw this nerd subculture fan base, man. You've done quite enough on manga, anime, food, your place, etc.

1. This is a bit somber, but the vast majority of Americans don't have any idea what the Hiroshima memorial looks like. You should spend some time to take a tour of it and vlog about it, its really an incredible thing to see.

2. Check out a professional kendo tournament.

4. I would LOVE to see a vlog entry once in a while of you or a friend of yours cooking a simple Japanese dish, maybe with a recipe and tips...not exactly a cooking show, I'm sure it'll end up being more comedic than anything, but sounds really fun!

Lastly, I really enjoy your videos because of your observations on simple things you notice, like the differences in cultures you've experienced.

Something about popular music in Japan at the moment would be interesting, doesn't have to be good of course, but just to give an idea the artists that are hot in Japan right now.

I agree with you on the cooking vlog and the kendo tournament. Both of them would be great to see.

Hit on some girls. I have yet to see you talk to a girl japanese or otherwise in any video (mom doesn't count).

Travel to somewhere remote up north and south of where you are. I've always wanted to see the remote outskirts of japan.

Tea ceremony? I hear they're boring though.

Pretend to be a royal monarch and interview people on the streets.

Japanese Television

Postby Ronnie on Sun Feb 24, 2008 9:12 pm

An entire blog about Japanese TV.

Do you enjoy watching TV or do you prefer renting American movies. Do you go to the movie theater? Why are Japanese TV shows so awkward? What shows are popular in Japan? Can you get any channels in English? Is there anything else you can share with us about Japanese TV?

I got around to mentioning this suggestion a long time ago, but since I never had the chance to stop by myself, I thought I'd pass it along again.

I really think you should make a video about "Sanrio Puroland". I'm not the one to suggest something as niche as a customary mascot for a video, but in all honesty, it'd be an easy place to get to, and I'm sure there would be enough "interesting" things to shoot.

Then again, I'm completely with you if you don't to spend the 3,000 yen entrance fee just to make a movie. That price is just ridiculous.
