There are a bunch of us over here. Any favorites? Any recommendations for Youtube videos you've found?

Hey Cooney, here are some of my pics for some interesting youtubers in japan. I think you are probably subscribed to these guys, but for everyone else here ya go:

NichibeiTrader:http://www.youtube.com/user/NichiBeiTrader

TkyoSam:http://www.youtube.com/user/TkyoSam

dallasINtokyo: http://www.youtube.com/user/dallasINtokyo

that's a nice mix of view points and styles right there. Oh, and I suppose I'll give a link to my own for everyone else haha:

I'm always looking for more Japan bloggers to get more view points. I think it's great that there is a nice group of us with very different styles, and we tend to cover different things. Keeps things interesting!

Nice Swan, just finished with Cooney's Life in Japan vlogs from now, can't get enough of the random stuff I see in those things.

I hope to add myself to this thread at one point, but hey, no education, no money, hmmm, I guess I will stick around the Netherlands for a while longer.

I like one that you linked to one of your vids; she goes by the username discountsausage. You can find her youtube page here: http://www.youtube.com/user/discountsausage

Great random vids. After watching them I worry about her, she needs more friends I think...

Here is my list:

http://www.youtube.com/user/richpav

http://www.youtube.com/user/aloneinaichi

http://www.youtube.com/user/ronindave

http://www.youtube.com/user/holyasu

http://www.youtube.com/user/huggystick

http://www.youtube.com/user/pinponitsmegan

http://www.youtube.com/user/shrgnatlas

http://www.youtube.com/user/ericsurf6

http://www.youtube.com/user/zenhill

http://www.youtube.com/user/swordplay2

I'm funneled in there somewhere, but my best recommendations out of the above few are probably "SwordPlay2", and "AloneInAichi". Remember that if your lost and looking for more material, always take time to look at everyone's subscriptions. I'm sure there is a treasure trove of unwatched video just waiting for attention.

shrgnatlas: thanks for those recommendations. Most of them I wasn't familiar with.

My recommendation is JapanLifestyle (http://www.youtube.com/user/JapanLifestyle). He hasn't updated in a while, but what's already there is incredibly useful. Even his first, "introductory" video is worth watching, as he goes off on a rant about house prices in Tokyo. Very similar to tokyocooney's FYI series. Also likes to make videos beside frequently used railway lines.

I don't really vlog anymore, and I didn't really vlog about Japan per se back when I was vlogging, and a lot of the videos I put up weren't vlogs.

But hey, if I'm coming to this YouTube Hanami party I should probably let you know who I am. :P

military vlogging

Postby omikron420 on Fri Feb 29, 2008 2:45 am

What catagory I find missing is people associated with the U.S. military vlogging about Japan. I think its interesting because a large amount of gaijin here are military. I might be the only one making a vlog which would make my perspective very unique even though I'm just getting started. Not to toot my horn so to speak. So I would also like to reccomend http://www.youtube.com/CallMeCaito and of course my own http://www.youtube.com/Omikron420 8)

Just a quick link to another Japan vlogger: Postatrocible
http://www.youtube.com/user/Posatrocible

He's just put up part 3 of his "Fun Things to do in Japan" series and it's pretty funny/informative/vloggy.
